Mikaela Weisse,
Deputy Director, Global Forest Watch,
World Resources Institute
Global Forest Watch (GFW) is a free, online platform that provides satellite-based data and tools for monitoring forests. GFW allows anyone to access near real-time information about where and how forests are changing around the world with a goal of providing decision-makers with the information they need to better manage forested landscapes. In this talk, GFW Deputy Director Mikaela Weisse (UW alum BS’13 MS’15) discusses achievements and challenges in bridging forest monitoring and action.
