My film captures the final hours of my family's jewelry store as we prepare to close our doors for the first time by 5 PM on Saturday, 3/21 as ordered by the IL governor J.B. Pritzker due to COVID-19. The clocks all over our shop loudly ticking in the background are an ever-present reminder that time is running out for business-as-usual, and a new time of financial uncertainty to begin. This tense documentary short reflects the stress many small businesses are going through after government-mandated closure, and fear of the unknown as workers face sudden unemployment.
