Steel Founders Society of America (SFSA) Cast in Steel Competition is held every year and student teams compete by designing and casting an object which is evaluated by nationally renowned judges on its design, manufacturing, performance, and historical accuracy. The UW-Madison student chapter of Materials Advantage/American Foundry Society (MA/AFS) organizes the teams and actively participates.
