This session will discuss the evidence against family separation and new ways to support parents to prevent system involvement. The case will be made for the important role courts and attorneys can play in prevention, beginning with shifting our mindset from surveillance, compliance, and punishment to one of empathy, support, and compassionate accountability. The presenters will bring together the ways in which all stakeholders can work together to ensure that children can live safely with their own families.
